A familiar Cambridge tradition is returning. The Village’s Halloween parade will take place Saturday, October 31, 2026, with the Cambridge Youth Commission organizing its revival after several years away.
Bring your costume, gather the family and join your neighbors before heading out for trick-or-treating. The parade is one of several opportunities to celebrate together this October, alongside separately organized events at the Cambridge Public Library, The Valley Hub and The Vault.
Join the Halloween parade on October 31
The parade begins at 5 p.m. at The Mansions on South Union Street and ends at Varak Park. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
Whether your family remembers the parade or will be joining for the first time, the Youth Commission invites you to help welcome this tradition back.
Start the celebration at the library on October 24
Looking for a costume or a chance to try something different? Head to the Cambridge Public Library’s Halloween Costume Launch Party on Saturday, October 24, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., in the community room at 21 West Main Street.
The free event includes face painting, cider and snacks, and a chance to try on capes, wigs, masks, gowns and more. Children and teens can borrow a costume for Halloween as the library launches its Costume & Dress-up Clothing Lending Library.
Come explore the costumes and enjoy a morning at the library with your family. For information, call 518-677-2443.
Visit the fire department at The Valley Hub
On Saturday, October 31, from 4 to 8 p.m., the Cambridge Fire Department and The Valley Hub will host “Halloween: A Cambridge Tradition” at 9 West Main Street, next door to the old firehouse.
The gathering will feature popcorn, donut holes, cider and fire-prevention information. Its hours give families time to stop by before or after the parade.
Spooktacular Party at The Vault
Later on Halloween evening, the Cambridge Fire Department and The Vault will host a Spooktacular Party from 7 to 10 p.m. at 1 Washington Street.
The party will feature food, drinks, music, a fire-safety information station and a Halloween photo backdrop inside the bank vault. Costumes are welcome. Organizers say proceeds will support the department’s community smoke-alarm effort.
These gatherings give neighbors a chance to spend time together, introduce children to a returning village tradition and connect with the people who serve our community. Thank you to the Youth Commission, library, fire department and participating local businesses for their work to make these events possible.
We look forward to seeing your costumes and welcoming the Halloween parade back to Cambridge.
